Like many top anglers these days, Alan likes Vespe elastic, not least because its
fluorescent colour-through formulation makes it easy to see when a fish is being played.
Today he's using orange No 3 through two sections.
"You'll find the
elastic works perfectly with a little lubrication from something like Vespe Slippery
Eel".

Mid way through the session, Kieron Rich decided
that his grade four Vespe elastic needed lubricating with the Vespe Slippery Eel solution.
He squirted it in at the bung end and interestingly blew through the pole and, with the
top lowered, bubbles emerged from the tip! A rather novel way of ensuring the lube hits
the spot!

"I've been very impressed with the Vespe
range of products. For the type of fishing I do there's nothing to rival them. The bung system, with it's removable
winder, allows me to change the tension in seconds".

"Hookbait was single bloodworm initially,
then four bloodworms and a maggot for the bream, on a size 16 DAM Sumo hook. I used 0.12
mm Damyl Tectan main line and Vespe No 4
elastic, and caught five bream, fifteen good roach and a few perch and
ruffe".

WHAT's NEW - VESPE LANDING NETS
These landing net heads from Vespe are among the strongest on the
market and as such they're perfect for stillwater carp fishing. The mesh size of around
12mm diameter allows the heads to be swept through the water quickly and the monofilament
construction means no snagged hooks. Two sizes are available, 47cm and 50cm across.

GOOD GEAR GUIDE - VESPE TOP TWO BUNGS
Small enough to fit into a
second section, these new style bungs
have a fixed elastic holder attached, instead of the detachable winder - an improvement on
the original pattern. It holds enough elastic for you to tighten or loosen it, or to
re-tie the connector if required. The
extractor is used with a simple lock-in-twist action.

VESPE SLIPPERY EEL
So many fish are lost
through sticking elastic that I can't understand why some anglers persevere with pole tips
that aren't cut back enough and elastic lubricants that don't work This Vespe Slippery Eel
might only be half of the solution but it certainly works and it doesn't damage any of the
elastics currently on the market.

"Slippery
Eel lubricant, a couple of minutes spent fine tuning is well worth the
sacrifice in order to get everything flowing smoothly, its critical to have your elastic
running freely"
