Angling Times Final Round

I didn’t fish this match as I went to Cuba for my holiday, but that miracle did happen as our team won on the day and finished second overall in the league.  Therefore, we as a team have qualified for the semi’s in Milton Keynes in March and I will be fishing against my old team Drennan Oxford.  Also my team mate Nigel Crewe won the match on the day!  So all in all a good day.

Well done to Andover who won the league despite them been new comers to this league and I wish them every success at Gold Valley!

Happy new year to everyone!

Cheers for that Chris.. I think we were more surprised than anyone else mate, we have only ever won 1 round or a winter league before and are usually in the bottom 3 and the end.. Just goes to show what Team meetings and listening to each others views on the practice matches can do :)

p.s. good luck on your semi-final mate.

Communication is very important, and you do bounce ideas off each other. Some of your team mates done very well individually, including yourself who gave me a right whopping off the next peg at competition pound. Hopefully the big freeze will soon go and we can get back to normal fishing.

It was a great team performance chris shame you missed out on a good final day . i did have a very good draw and caught 7lb 1 oz for a match win that finished off a great 4 weeks for me on canal.

A big well done to the andover lads there first year in the league and what a great bunch of lads in a great league well done, roll on next year now benger has been taken out should be fairer on the rivers and not such a draw bag.
